Wurm Press poets at the Twisted Pepper

On Saturday 20 August I'll be reading with Cah-44 and Karl Parkinson for a Wurm Press poets showcase hosted by the Seven Towers agency. We'll be at the Where It's At underground bookmarket, housed every Saturday afternoon at the Twisted Pepper building (downstairs in 'The Box'), 54 Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1. Start time is 3pm, and admission is free.

Cyphers 91

A new poem of mine with title 'it begins with Eileen' was published in issue 91 of Cyphers , released at the beginning of May 2021. Founded in 1975 by Leland Bardwell, Pearse Hutchinson, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin and Macdara Woods, Cyphers is one of Ireland's longest-established literary magazines , publishing poetry, prose, graphics and reviews. It's currently edited by Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin  with assistance from Léan Ní Chuilleanáin and Natasha Cuddington. Cyphers was one of the first poetry magazines I encountered when I moved from London to Dublin in 2001 so the invitation to contribute was very welcome. 'it begins with Eileen' relates to 'languages on the street' as one of the issue's loose framing concerns, and it's taken from my recent cycle of poems responding to aspects of digital gesture and performativity. Diachronic Bonhomie: a Cúirt International Festival of Literature poetry commission

I was very happy to accept an exciting invitation by Cúirt International Festival of Literature director Manuela Moser to produce a brand new poem + poetry intervention in response to the festival's archives, to mark 40 years of Cúirt. My contribution, titled 'Diachronic Bonhomie', will be installed across the sites of the festival around Galway city over the duration of its 40th edition (8-13 April 2025) in a combination of print, visual and audio forms. And I will be speaking about the commission and related aspects of my practice in a festival event at The Mick Lally Theatre on Friday 11 April. Cúirt is a world class literature festival - one of Europe's oldest, and widely regarded as one of Ireland's finest. Among the writers programmed to participate this year are Sally Rooney, Paul Muldoon, Kayo Chingonyi, Roddy Doyle, Kevin Barry, Eimear McBride, Anne Enright, and Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian.
