On Wednesday 9 November I will be reading from Spitting Out the Mother Tongue in the public library in Balbriggan, Co Dublin. Start time is 7pm.

gorse no. 2

The second issue of gorse , a wonderful print journal of literature edited in Dublin by Susan Tomaselli, was published last week and includes a new long poem of mine. gorse publishes high quality work in the form of essays, fiction, interviews, poetry, variations of these and much else. Great Poets Steal: a collaborative writing workshop with Christodoulos Makris Blanchardstown Library, Dublin 15 2pm, Saturday 20 April 2013 "The act of choosing and reframing tells us as much about ourselves as a story about our mother’s cancer operation" - Kenneth Goldsmith , 'Uncreative Writing' Its concept stolen from Steven Fowler's Patchwork Renga workshop conducted at the Poetry Library in London last June, and its title from the famous (mis)quote attributed to TS Eliot, this collaborative writing workshop aims to exercise the faculties of selecting and connecting text. SoundEye 2025

In a discussion-based oral history of SoundEye Festival (1997-2017) collated by David Toms and published in the special poetry issue of The Stinging Fly  magazine in the summer of 2022 , my absence from the history of the festival as a forum for international experimental poetries in Ireland was noted and remarked upon. I'm happy that this is now being rectified, and that I'll be taking part in the upcoming revival edition, the first since 2017: SoundEye 2025 takes place in over the weekend 4-6 July 2025 with a free schedule of events at University College Cork and Shandon Studios, Cork City. And I'm very pleased to be reading with Nisha Ramayya, Peter Manson, and Gonca Özmen on Saturday 5 July (12 - 1.30pm) at The Shtepps auditorium in UCC.
